Wow! I just have a whole LOT to tell you about this month, so I'll just get right to it. OK? Gen Con '91 was every bit as good to us at the GSI booth as was Origins '91! Middle-Earth PBM™ was favorably received by just about everybody! Games have been starting ever since we got back, and we're getting new registrations every day. By the way, those of you who need/want 3-week games can now rejoice because ME-PBM has now joined the ranks of the 3-week games. Now you can enjoy Earthwood. State of War. Venom, and ME-PBM in both 2 and 3-week games. So send in those registrations! Canadian and overseas players welcome!!
And there's more! GSI is now working with MCI® to promote a new deal for all of you who want to talk with your allies but are afraid of that monthly phone bill. Now, you'll be able to get discounts on all those phone calls which are game related just by identifying those players you want to call. Stay tuned for further details.
GSl now offers three new services. The first deals with all games. If you can't wait for your turn to arrive, you can call us to read your turn to you over the phone within the first seven days after processing. However, there is a $2.00 charge for this service. After seven days (if your turn has still not arrived), you can get your tum read to you for free. We don't know everyone who calls, so the only way we have of verifying your identity is by your most recent security code. Have it ready!
The next two services deal with ME-PBM. If you have that favorite sketch that you think portrays one of your new characters better than our artist, and you would like to see it on your resultsheet, just ask! We'll scan the sketch for you and add it to your turns from then on. The one-time cost for this service (per sketch) is $6.50. 8112 x 11 (or smaller) and original artwork only, please! Also, GSI can now make available to you any of the available role-playing products (as mentioned in the rules) or the miniatures of the Middle-Earth series. Just tell us which ones you want, and we'll send them right out. If you would like a catalog of these items, just let us know.
Please note that when you register for ME-PBM, the full color map will be folded and sent to you with your rulebook and setup materials. If you would prefer that the map not be folded, just add $2.00 to your registration fee and we will gladly ship it in a tube.
Some of you have asked whether any of our artists' works (Whispers' covers or even ME-PBM sketches!) are available on T-shirts. This is possible and likely, or we might even make up an official GSI T-shirt! If you would be interested in purchasing such shirts, please let us know. The more responses we get, the likelier it will happen. If you have any suggestions for the T-shirt design, let us know them as well.
Finally, please note that one of the stories in this issue (Dalia's Song) seems to lack an ending. This is because some of you have suggested a new type of story idea called the "Round Robin." The idea is that each month a different person will write the next segment of the story in the way that he/she thinks that it should go. We here at GSI will decide which of the various segments should be printed or we might just print all of them! So put on your thinkina caps, pick up your pens and typewriters and start writing the next section of the story! The next installment is due by October 1, 1991. Also, lets see some activity in the 'Personals' section from all you new players - after all, the first 40 words are FREE!!
Good gaming!!

Game 3
Greetings to all in this public game. After a hiatus of 9 months, I'm back. The Free Peoples shall prevail.
ZARENDARGER
Game 4
Er-Mûrazôr,
I formally declare war on your nation. I respect you nation's power but not its cause. I am eager to learn if I can respect you as a player.
Respectfully (?)
Lord Hoth Halifax of the Arthedain
Game 5
Greetings,
The time has come for all Dark Servants to work together to smash those who oppose the might of Sauron! It is in our best interests to work together at least for a time. Many of our victory conditions require us to oppose each other at some point, but we should put that off until we have ensured our victory over the Free Peoples.
I invite all Dark Servants who have not done so already to contact me so that we can coordinate our actions. I also invite all Neutral nations who have not contacted me to do so as soon as possible, so we can discuss matters of mutual interest.
Hail Sauron!
Ren the Unclear (#18)
Game 7
Uninvited agents and emissaries are subject to imprisonment and decapitation. Contact us before visiting us.
