(Character) was traveling through the hills to the east of the river Anduin that wound its way out of the northern mountains. Some of the hills were relatively low and were easy enough to traverse, but others were high and proved difficult to ascend. He had spent some hours trying to find a way around these higher hills without losing much time. Having just decided to skirt a particularly high hill, he was momentarily blinded by the sun flashing brilliantly at the top of the hill. Whether it was enemy or happenstance didn't matter. He had time to investigate and the climb was begun. About an hour later, the top was reached in time to see the setting sun mysteriously illuminate a huge chair which was apparently set into the rock at the very peak of the hill. After the sun had set, the chair still emanated a strong glow and seemed to have some type of powerful magic. Suddenly, he realized that he had found Amon Lhaw.

Character ID: Didn't work maybe because the char had not mage skill. (JordiPifarre)
The High Seats seem to be erratic in the exercise of their powers. Sometimes they work several turns in a row for the same character, at other times they won't work at all. This seems to be a random function.
As far as is known, the Seats aren't 'aligned' and will work for any character regardless of allegiance. A character can safely ignore the encounter if he so desires.
Will sometimes work for a character, sometimes it won't.
The think of an enemy dying is interesting. I have heard that doing this sometimes works. I was told that this can be the same as casting weakness/curse on an enemy player. One player told me that he tried this and an DS opponent who reported he had a curse spell cast on him that turn. Whether this is just a co-incidence (another Free character cast curse at the same time?) is unknown (they weren't in contact with every player on the two teams, but perhaps someone can try this and get back to me)?
