Journeying through the forest, [Character] thought that there came to him the faint sound of song upon the air. Like to one enchanted, he followed after it, to emerge a short while later into a small clearing, where a number of elves had gathered beneath the deepening sky. “We are but travelers to the Havens, friend,” a voice spoke, and, turning, [Character] saw an elven warrior standing before him, bow across his back, and hand resting lightly on a sword still sheathed. “Long now have we dwelt upon these lands, but still do we mourn great Ondolindë, betrayed by our own. Weary then have we grown of such sadness, and so seek now to leave these shores, that our hearts may be renewed by the sight of Aman.”
