Lost in the mountains, as night descended [Character] sought shelter from the cold in a cave. A quick inspection in the failing light showing it to be but small, still, it was large enough to provide some measure of relief from the wind that howled about its entrance. And so, huddled into his blanket, he sought sleep’s ease…Only to be woken some time later by cold hands clutching at him, goblin eyes gleaming in the dark. Thinking to rise, pain flared bright in his head, the blow driving him back to the ground, before another knocked consciousness from him. When he came to, it was to find himself in a large cavern, its rough-hewn walls carven with strange scripts and crude drawings. Foul-smelling brands lent the chamber a greasy, flickering light, which illuminated both the goblin horde circled about, and also the huge goblin standing before him, flanked by others bearing great if tattered banners, with the blackened crown set upon his head clearly marking him as their leader.
