[Character] had seen ruins before, the broken bones of old forts, houses, even towns, inhabitants long-since having abandoned them to the ravages of the elements. But this, a tower rising up like a finger from the open clearing, was one he had not previously seen, nor was it on any maps he knew of. It was obviously ancient, fashioned perhaps by the Eldar in times long-past, and he knew that he could not pass up the chance of investigating! Entering, then, he noticed the outside was in far better condition than the interior. Within, rubble was strewn across the floor, itself partially caved in, making exploration treacherous, whilst the brickwork of the walls was darkened by evidence of a fire that had once raged there, consuming the higher floors and doubtless bringing them down as rubble to the floor. Discovering a flight of stairs leading downwards, he found the basement, but its roof was partially collapsed, allowing him to go no further. As he turned to leave, however, his torch light fell upon the statue of a male elf, holding a sword in one hand and an orb in the other, lying now on its side, knocked over perhaps by whatever caused the destruction.
