[Character]travels having taken him near the Elven fort of Amon Lind, Calcawe thought to pay a visit, keen in particular to seek audience with Feamirie, renowned swordsman and ruler of the town. Odd, that an Elven settlement might be considered a fort, the term conjuring a picture of crude buildings, thrown up in haste against the threat of danger. Yet as he approached, such images fled his mind. For there were walls about the fort, but those walls seemed to rise from the ground as natural as the upthrusting of a cliff’s face. And the buildings within, also, seemed almost organic, fashioned from stone so cunning wrought that it came almost as a surprise to find them cold to the touch, not warm and throbbing with the life that had surely propelled them up from the earth. Gaining directions to Feamirie’s dwelling place, [Character] knocked upon the door to be ushered swiftly into the elf lord’s presence. Clearly busy, but perhaps relieved to be interrupted from what looked to be the tedium of administrative affairs, Feamirie looked up to raise an arched eyebrow. “Well?”
